It is rigorous, both academically and experientially. Participation is restricted to practicing therapists with an active caseload and a graduate degree in a clinical mental health discipline and prerequisite learning and skills. Enrollment in this training requires documented foundational learning in Somatic Therapy & Attachment Theory and application to practice. Applicants must have completed the SAP Early Life & Boundaries training or demonstrate equivalent prior learning from another formal training source, subject to our review for equivalency on a case by case basis. Demonstration involving participant material and explicit group process work is a core part of this training. All participants are encouraged to engage fully. It is highly likely that during the training some of your own unprocessed material may emerge. This can be taken to your own individual therapy. It may also sometimes be appropriate to work with it in the main training group or in small group practice sessions. Experiential components will be supported by skilled facilitators who guide individual therapists, small group learning, and clinical practice development, including active coaching during practice sessions. Group case consultations area available after the training and provide an opportunity to integrate clinical material into practice. There is no fee and attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. Attendance is available for the 4 group consultations post training. Confidentiality is a fundamental requirement. Participants must respect and protect the confidentiality of fellow participants and their own clients. We recommend that participants engage in therapy, specifically somatic relational therapy. It is strongly recommended that participants arrange professional support (supervision/consultation) with someone experienced in this work to support your learning and integration of the learning into your practice. The training is conducted entirely online. Participants must have a stable internet connection, a computer/laptop with a camera, and a private workspace.
