Terms of Participation for Facilitators

This addendum to The Savoy Clinic Ltd.’s (The Savoy Clinic) Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation (Facilitator Addendum) further addresses the integral role of the Facilitators in the Bringing the Body into Practice (BBP) training programs in creating a training and learning environment characterized by inclusion, safety, and the pursuit of excellence. In this Facilitator Addendum, all defined terms hold the same meaning as set out in the Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation.

All Facilitators are expected to comply with the additional terms set out herein in addition to those terms set out in the Code of Conduct and Terms of Participation.

BELONGING AND NOT BELONGING

In training programs such as BBP, community builds around it. We are conscious that this creation of community can lead to feelings of belonging and not belonging, and we are aware that these feelings may be heightened for all Participants in the context of the training environment.

Further, the role of Facilitator itself inherently contains aspects of belonging and not belonging by virtue of who is invited—and not invited—to facilitate. To this end, we ask that in your check-ins/introduction, please DO NOT identify yourself as on the facilitation team; for clarity, this includes during consultations and trainings.

Additionally, we ask that you DO NOT discuss your participation in other groups or communities during your check-ins. For example, please avoid statements along the lines of the following:

  • “I was at a dinner last night with some of the folks from BBP…”
  • “in my women’s circle where there are BBP folks…”
  • “I was at an event with some BBP folks or so and so from BBP…”

While we are excited that these webs of interconnectivity are forming, we are aware of the impact for some people of hearing about them and not being included, as this may stir their relational material which will impact the training dynamics.

PSYCHEDELICS

Psychedelic-assisted therapy is a complicated area of practice that brings with it multiple complexities in legal and ethical standards and practices. This form of therapy is well beyond the scope of the BBP training program. If you are involved in psychedelic-assisted therapy in your professional practice, please refrain from discussing that work with other Participants.

DISCLOSURE OF NEW DISCIPLINE

All Facilitators must disclose to The Savoy Clinic if they lose their professional license and/or employment during their tenure as a Facilitator if the reason for that loss is disciplinary in nature.

All Facilitators must carry professional liability insurance.

With Appreciation,
